Cases were initiated in magistrate court in the past two weeks as follows: Michhael Lynn Heard Sr of Jefferson, theft-fifth degree; Bayllie Brianne Flinn of Jefferson, theft-fifth degree; Zachary Wailes of Breda, possession of drug paraphernalia; and Suez Ann Smith of Lake City, interference with official acts, domestic abuse assault-simple and public intoxication.
Persons paid fines for scheduled traffic violations during the week ending Jan. 1 as follows: Spencer Jody Kirk of Grand Junction, violation of conditions of restricted license, $50.
Also, speed, $90 (16-20 mph over limit): *Quinten Todd Heineman of David City, NE.
Speed, $40 (6-10 over): Sarah Ellen Felts and Tricia Marie Winkelman, both of Scranton, Hugo Josue Molina Ortiz of Jamaica, and *Jose Fidel Munoz III of Coon Rapids.
Speed, $20 (1-5 over): Christopher Michael Andrew and William Harlan Renwanz, both of Scranton, Colton Tyler Jones of Clinton, Elizabeth Maria Lindgren of Jefferson, Logan James Bonney of Bayard, and Maxwell Thomas Ernst of Cedar Rapids.
Failure to wear/maintain safety belt, $50: Sarah Ellen Felts of Scranton.
Hunting/fishing violations: Harrison Cole Johnston of Rippey, restrictions on taking game – deer, turkey, $100.
Judgments were entered against individuals for nonpayment of scheduled fines as follows (original fine listed): Brittany Ann Neal of Scranton, Lawrence Shannon O’Neal of Grand Junction and Sharlene Kay Gingery of Carroll, speed, $20; and James Beal Holmes of Waukee, speed, $90.
The judgment includes a penalty of one-half the original fine and surcharge.
Court costs were $60 on each citation unless otherwise noted.
